Denver Kitchen Remodeling Details That Add An Extra Special Touch

April 26, 2017

If you’re still in the planning stages of your Denver kitchen remodeling project, you may be so focused on choosing countertops, appliances, and cabinets that you forget about many other details. Minor details may not seem important now, but they make a huge difference in the overall appearance of your kitchen. Here are a few details you should consider including in your kitchen remodel:

Decorative Hardware

Don’t settle on plain hardware for your kitchen cabinets and drawers. Although the hardware is small in comparison to the cabinets and countertops, it can still impact the way your kitchen looks, so choose wisely. If the rest of your kitchen is fairly simple, be bold with your hardware choice. Hardware isn’t expensive, so this is a low risk investment since you can easily switch it out if you get tired of it after a few years.

Crown Molding

Nothing says luxury quite like crown molding, so don’t forget to plan for this detail if you are trying to create a glamorous looking kitchen. Molding should be placed around the perimeter of the entire kitchen, even in the space between the top of your cabinets and your ceiling. Learn more about how molding and trim make an impact in your home.

Bar Stools

If your newly renovated kitchen includes a large island, you may want to consider buying a few bar stools to line up on one side of the island. Be sure to measure the island carefully so you know how tall the bar stools should be and how many will fit in the space. If you’ve been looking for a way to add a subtle pop of color to your kitchen, bar stools with a colorful cushion are a great choice. Or, you could stick with a simple wood bar stool if you want your kitchen to give off a rustic, country vibe.

Light Fixtures

Many kitchens are designed with recessed lighting, but if you are remodeling, you may want to think about adding a few hanging light fixtures instead of relying solely on the recessed lights. Hanging light fixtures look incredible when placed above a large island. Depending on the size of the island, you may want to either do one large fixture, or hang several smaller fixtures in a row.

Electrical Outlets

If your kitchen doesn’t have many electrical outlets, talk to a contractor about adding a few more during the remodel. Figure out where you plan on using smaller appliances such as the toaster, coffee maker, or blender so you can determine where you should add electrical outlets. This will make it much easier to plug in multiple appliances without struggling to find an open outlet.
