Tips for Maximizing Storage in Your Denver Kitchen Remodeling Project

April 11, 2018

When it comes time to start your Denver kitchen remodeling project, there are many things to consider. You need to decide on countertops and backsplashes. You need to figure out whether you want to create a new footprint in the kitchen or decide if the current setup will still work. One area you definitely do not want to overlook is how to organize all of your kitchen items. Whether you are dealing with a small space or a large one, maximizing the space is important.

Here are some tips to consider before you get started:

Cabinets

Once you start looking into options for drawers and cabinets, you will probably be surprised to find out just how many different types of cabinets are available. When you are considering cabinets, make sure they are big enough for maximum storage. You might want to consider higher cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling. Tiered cabinets will enable you to put plenty in them because you will still be able to see everything easily. For corners, using a lazy Susan cabinet will utilize what otherwise would have been dead space. You can also get dividers for cabinets for optimal vertical storage.
Drawers
If you aren't interested in the typical lazy Susan cabinet in the corner, there is now a drawer option that will enable you to put that corner space to good use. Other ideas for your drawers include using dividers to keep items from becoming a jumbled mess.
Storage for Small Appliances
Sure, you use your coffeemaker and toaster every day, but that doesn't mean they have to be stored out in the open. When you are designing your kitchen, consider creating built-in storage spaces specifically for these items. You might also want to build a spot for your trashcan so that it can be stored out of sight as well. You can customize it by including a spot to store trash bags.
Wall Space
Consider leaving some open wall space in your kitchen design. There are many options available for using vertical wall space to hang pots and pans, kitchen utensils, cups, and so forth. You can customize the design depending on your needs.
